Today Flow Accelerator and Gaza Sky Geeks held the “Exploring Entrepreneurship in Palestine” event, a get together between Palestinian founders and London Business School students under the “Contextualizing the Drivers of Innovation” theme of LBS’s Global Experience.
Through Ramallah’s Global Experience, we explored the factors underlying the success story in the areas of innovation and showcase the growing entrepreneurial scene in the country.
Kicking off the event with a welcoming was David Mayett, the economics professor from London Business School. From there Alan El-Kadhi Gaza Sky Geeks Director at Mercy Corps, shared with us Gaza Sky Geeks efforts and explained the current context for the people living in Gaza.
Majd Khalifeh the Co-founder and CEO of Flow Accelerator explained to our audience Flow Accelerator’s mission and efforts for the Palestinian entrepreneurs.
From there, Sam Bahour, the Managing Partner at Applied Information Management went in depth explaining the Palestinian context from a Palestinian point of view, pointed out the main challenges Palestinian face and how these challenges affect them as entrepreneurs. Sam also answered some of the questions the student had to ask.
A valuable time was shared between the LBS students and Palestinian entrepreneurs. They had a great time to mingle and share their opinions and experiences with each other.
19 Palestinian startups had the opportunity to pitch their projects, where the LBS student showed extreme interest in Palestinian startups and were eager to learn more about them.
At the end of the event a panel discussion carried out with the moderation of Dr. Mona Dmeidi, the director at NGate Innovation & Technology Hub valuable discussion hosted Mr. Alan El-Kadhi, Amber Al Amleh the Managing Partner at Ibtikar Fund and Samia Totah, the Co-Founder and CEO for Bisan Systems. Who shared their extraordinary and extremely valuable experience throughout their journey in the world of entrepreneurship.
