As part of the Green Launchpad track under the Green Forward Programme, Flow Accelerator delivered the final mini masterclass under this component, focusing on Green MSME Screening and Technical Assistance (TA) Tools. The session aimed to enhance the institutional capacity of Business Support Organizations (BSOs) to assess MSME green readiness and design targeted, phase-appropriate technical assistance pathways aligned with the Palestinian market context.
Held online yesterday despite the challenging circumstances in the region, where the masterclass brought together representatives from five participating BSOs working at the intersection of enterprise development, sustainability, and business support. The session was designed to move beyond general concepts, equipping participants with standardized tools and applied methodologies to translate assessments into practical green support interventions.
Led by Leen Abu Baker, Palestine Director of Flow Accelerator, and Faisal Kilani, Environmental and Social Management Specialist and Founder of Envision Environmental Solutions, participants explored key frameworks for understanding MSME and startup typologies, venture lifecycle phases, and their implications for green readiness and TA design. The session highlighted why one-size-fits-all green support often fails; overloading early-stage enterprises or emphasizing certifications over operational fundamentals, and distinguished between green ambition and green credibility through evidence-based, measurable improvements.
The masterclass examined why one-size-fits-all green support often fails, highlighting challenges such as overloading early-stage enterprises and prioritizing certifications over operational basics. Participants explored the difference between green ambition and green credibility, emphasizing evidence-based and measurable improvement. The session then reviewed venture development phases and how green readiness evolves from ideation to investment readiness, with a focus on embedding sustainability into business models.
A central component of the masterclass focused on designing targeted technical assistance pathways. designing tailored technical assistance pathways. Participants learned to link readiness assessment results to appropriate support types, including awareness-building, operational optimization, integration, and scale-oriented interventions.
By the end of the session, participants received applied tools, including draft screening checklists, green readiness scoring matrices, and sample TA pathways, providing a foundation for integration into BSO services. This final mini masterclass reinforced the Green Launchpad track’s role in strengthening BSOs as institutional anchors within Palestine’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, grounding green transformation in business fundamentals, market logic, and measurable impact.
The Green Forward Programme is funded by the European Union and implemented at the meso level by SPARK and Flow Accelerator in Palestine to foster a green and circular economy in the Southern Neighbourhood.
